House of Creative Denmark is the brand new visitor centre by Creative Denmark, with both a physical and a virtual space to be visited and used by Danish creatives and interested international minds alike.
A lot is happening within the creative industries. Ideas are plenty, and creative businesses all over Denmark offer unique products and solutions of high quality. Therein lies a great potential for export, and that’s exactly what the new visitor centre will help facilitate.
The physical House of Creative Denmark visitor centre is a beautiful and transformative space that showcases how Danish creative solutions can help drive sustainable development and improve quality of life worldwide, with the magnetic narrative about Danish creative DNA at its core. It is located in BLOX in the cultural heart of Copenhagen and welcomes guests, delegations, and fellow creative minds from all over the world.
Following the Covid pandemic, a need for solutions that would allow international audiences to experience the unique Danish approach to creativity regardless of travel restrictions and cancelled events, was revealed. This sparked the idea to what is now an extension of the physical House of Creative Denmark; a captivating virtual visitor centre that allows interested viewers from the entire world to browse Danish solutions, participate in intriguing talks and workshops, and, not least, get insights into the wide scope of inventive Danish solutions.
Both the physical and the virtual visitor centre have been designed and developed by Danish experience design studio YOKE, which is known for its engaging concepts in interaction design, exhibition design, and experience design.
As a showroom of Danish creative expertise, House of Creative Denmark is a unique and valuable asset to the numerous amazing creative businesses and organisations within the industries. The visitor centre will contribute to growth in the creative industries and facilitate a reciprocal flow of knowledge and matchmaking between Danish and international actors.
We are looking forward to seeing the realisation of a unique space that can show off the best of the famous Danish creativity, in addition to enhancing the creativity of the many visitors who will use the centre.
The idea for House of Creative Denmark has sprung from the partnership behind Creative Denmark, which includes three ministries, the Confederation of Danish Industry, the Danish Chamber of Commerce, and Realdania: a strong collaborative force with influence in both the private and the public sector.
Additionally, it will receive support from associations in the creative industries, who contribute to Creative Denmark’s advisory board. House of Creative Denmark was made possible with support from the philanthropic association Realdania and The Danish Industry Foundation. Neighbours of House of Creative Denmark, Danish Design Center and BLOXHUB, are also engaged in the process.
