The connection to nature is central for the summerhouse that showcases VOLA series of gold finish taps. Together with ARDESS Architects and the Creative Director of the Utzon Centre - Lasse Andersson, VOLA launched a project focused on the role of design in Danish culture. They constructed a summerhouse based on the idea to demonstrate intelligent design within small spaces, conscious consumption, and an appreciation for the simple things in life.

With VOLA installed brushed gold finish taps, from their Exclusive Color Series, the summerhouse showcases the Danish love of sustainably sourced, long-lasting natural materials, as well as a tradition of pure design and craftsmanship. The project aims to show the connection to nature combined with the meditative atmosphere that is central to the summerhouse culture in Denmark, continually evoking new sensations and inspiration.

The film is presented by Lasse Andersson, Creative Director of the Utzon Centre, who explains how the summerhouse – or in Danish, sommerhus – has become woven into the fabric of Danish life.

Sustainability has always been ingrained in the Danish DNA. The concept of the summerhouse perfectly demonstrates intelligent design within small spaces, conscious consumption and valuing the simple things in life. It showcases the Danish love of sustainably sourced, long-lasting natural materials, as well as a tradition of pure design and craft techniques that go back centuries, including carpentry, masonry and thatching.
